Topic: Sony Dash Add Ons

I was thinking this afternoon about how I wish the Sony Dash has an onboard FM radio. Then, I realized that I have an extra Best Buy Insignia NS-HD01 portable HD radio. It needs USB power, which the Sony Dash has, but would also need a speaker, since it doesn't have one built in. I am tempted to just Velcro it to the back of the Sony Dash.

The other thought is to simply take an old smartphone and Velcro it to the back of the Sony Dash. Same thing with power, just run a USB cable to the side of the Sony Dash. It would give a bit more options for entertainment and shouldn't get lost, if it is kept Velcroed to the Dash. I did check my wife's old Samsung Galaxy S5. It is just the right size to Velcro to the back of the Sony Chumby. Time to get some Velcro!

Re: Sony Dash Add Ons

I had one of those but sold it and got an NS-HD02 which is a color screen and somewhat of an upgrade.

Haven't thought about adding on to my Dash. Wish HD Radio would become the standard for OTA radio. It is better and you can add more stations to each frequency.

Insignia also made an NS-HD01a which is a slight upgrade of the O1 with a sleaker look.
Also an AudioVox version https://www.ebay.com/itm/AudioVox-IHDP0 … SwKgdacrOg
