Topic: Dash Theme

Hi fellow dashers.  I've been putting off Chumby-izing my Dash until I have no choice.  Today, I thought was that was the day.  I had a message on my Dash this morning about authorization problems, and to go to some Sony URL.

I just power-cycled the thing instead.  It came back up, but I got the "hey update to the bricking firmware" message.  So, I just power-cycled it again.  This time, it came back up and acted normally.  No message to update (for now).

So, the question I have is this.  I don't really use ANY of the apps on the Dash.  I use it for the custom alarms, the whole automatic night mode thing, and a clock.  For YEARS I've been using the same theme (flip clock).  There are a few that are on my device, including a Duff beer one I'm fond of yet, rarely use.

My question is this.  Once I Chumbify my Dash, is there any way to get at those themes?  I've attached a pic of the one I always use.  I'm not afraid of moving files around and editing configuration (vi user here), so if it's "dirty" I'm good w/ it.

Thanks again for the incredible support for this device!

Re: Dash Theme

I don't think that's a theme, it looks like http://www.chumby.com/guide/A3B84F5E-AD … AC2/widget in full screen mode.

Re: Dash Theme

That is definitely a widget which you can use on your Chumdash with the full screen app theme which comes with the transformation.   I used it for awhile before I managed to get the theme I was using before back running (appview).

Go for it.

Wow, guess I don't know the difference between themes, widgets, or control panels.  I've very ashamed!

Is there an FAQ I missed on how to use/get a widget?
