Topic: basic questions about flash

I have two questions about flash and the chumby.

1.  what version of flash does the chumby run?

2.  how much does it cost.

(my brother has expressed interest in flash and I thought he would like it for his birthday)

The chumby runs Flash Lite 3 Player, which is roughly based on the desktop Flash 8 Player in terms of capabilities.  Flash Lite is a version of the Flash Player adapted for use in embedded devices such as the chumby.

The official software from Adobe to create Flash movies is currently called Adobe Flash CS3 Professional, and it's pretty ding-darn pricey.

I'm not sure what Adobe's policies are with regard to license transfers, but it might be possible to obtain a license to an older version from someone no longer developing Flash.

There are other, less expensive tools to create Flash movies out there, but they're typically a subset of what the Adobe tool offers.
