Does any Twitter widget work?

Re: Twitter

At this time, no.  I believe Duane addressed it in the forum and it had something to do with changes to Twitter itself from connections from 3rd party apps, like the Twitter Widget.

Re: Twitter

twitter used to have an open api where anybody could pull tweets via rss.... likely, all the widgets used that.

a few months ago, twitter shut that down, now, you have to sign up as a developer, and get an access key, and use that to pull, I don't recall whether there's limits on how many you can get, costs, etc.

I did it myself to pipe a few twitter accounts into my rss reader.

Cleaning up any loose bits and bytes.

Re: Twitter

I was just checking again to see if the chumbysphere has developed anything new Twitter related.

Re: Twitter

No - Twitter has basically killed apps like ours.

While we could get a developer key, they cap the number of requests such that we could not properly service all of the Twitter clients running on all the devices.

Re: Twitter

Users could create their own RSS feeds and use an RSS reader perhaps... e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXLYIw-IU8I
