Topic: EXACTLY how to you run off a flash drive?

I read the wiki on this... I understand the basics but think I'm messing up in one of two areas:

--the VFAT format
--and/or the line feeds in the "debugchumby" file.

Exactly how on Windows XP can I format my flash drive as VFAT?

And, how do I know if I have the line feeds in the UNIX-style?  Can I use notepad or what?

Thanks,
Phillip

I just put my USB stick in (XP Pro), and select Format. The only option is FAT and it works. If you're on Windows, UltraEdit can save a file as Unix format.

on windows xp you can also format as FAT32... that is what I chose and my usb drive is working perfectly.

FWIW, I did the music streaming hack with a FAT16-formatted drive.  So I think that format works as well.
