Topic: Using a chumby as a control device

I've been recently doing some work with touch screens and control interfaces. I'm curious about using the chumby as such a control device but need to know a little more about the capabilities / specs. I read through the MX21 data sheet, but it didn't provide much info on the video display controller. I'm wondering what the chumby can handle? I know that in its current state, the chumby is 320x240, but can it handle 640x480 or 1024x768? If so I'd be really interested in getting my hands on the guts of the chumby so I can start to look at the interfaces.

Cheers....and nice work guys!

Matt

Re: Using a chumby as a control device

The MX21 can manage a framebuffer up to 800x600 with a 16- or 18- bit color data bus (RGB666). The MX21's Application Processor Reference Manual explains with great detail this and more information about the hardware.

Hope that helps.

Cool, thanks! I looked into the Wiki for the hardware document as you suggested, is it this:

Re: Using a chumby as a control device

This is the Reference Manual, all 15MB of it, contains just about everything there is to know about the '21.
