Topic: Configure the Control Button as ALARM OFF rather than SNOOZE

I've searched and saw at least one other post of this nature but no replies.  I have never used SNOOZE and would like to see an option in the alarm settings to choose whether the control button will act as a snooze button or an alarm off button when a custom alarm is set.  I actually purchased the Chumby because I figured it had the best shot of being able to accomplish this.

If Chumby can't build in an option like this directly into the alarm setup, would anyone know if a clock app could be created to make this possible?  Or am I just out of luck to ever find an alarm clock with a big OFF button instead of SNOOZE?

Thanks.

Re: Configure the Control Button as ALARM OFF rather than SNOOZE

I would like to see a variation of this, sort of.

I like to wake up to the radio. Ideally, I would like to see a button that turns off the backup alarm, but keeps the radio going. Now, when the alarm turns on, I get a choice of Snooze or Turn Alarm Off. If I press Turn Alarm Off, it shuts off the radio. If I press Snooze, it turns off the radio for the snooze period.

In my ideal world, I just want to avoid the beeping of the backup alarm, without turning off the radio.

There was a lengthy discussion of this here: http://forum.chumby.com/viewtopic.php?id=4570
And also a custom alarm screen that does this here: http://forum.chumby.com/viewtopic.php?id=4756

Re: Configure the Control Button as ALARM OFF rather than SNOOZE

I'd still like to see the big button on top be selectable between SNOOZE and ALARM OFF.  Is there perhaps a command to make that happen?  How about the ability to set the SNOOZE minutes to 0, which would mean ALARM OFF?
