Topic: heat issues

Myself and some of the other First 50s have noticed our Chumbies are running kinda warm.  Not hot enough to burn, but it was a concern of ours.  What is the main component creating so much heat? the LCD?  if that's the case, is it using LED back lighting? if not, have you considered it since LED back lighting is supposed to be cheaper than standard tube lighting?

Re: heat issues

It's heat coming from all of the parts; the Chumby doesn't have a fan or even a heatsink or any kind of airflow to radiate the heat, and so it gets warm. It's entirely normal.

Re: heat issues

Most of its from the wireless card, it seems. I don't know how these first 50 look in comparison to mine, but removing the battery helps cool it down quicker.
