Ok, I've followed the instructions exactly, but I can't get it to work.  TVersity, uSirius and Apache all look like they're running properly.  I put the music.php file in the right place and edited it to put my IP address in.  I put a few channels on MyStreams on Chumby correctly.  But, nothing happens when I click on the streams.  I even tried shutting off the firewall, to no avail.

Is there any troubleshooting procedure I can follow, or logs I can look at to see where it's (or where I) screwed up?  Help!

I saw in the wiki that if the chumby is connecting across the internet to the host computer, there could be problems b/c of firewalls.  My setup is that the cable modem is connected to a router (hard wired), and then the host computer is hard wired to that router.  The chumby is connecting to the wireless router.  Is that the problem?  If it is, how can I fix it?

Anybody?

Awesome, I've used ORB before, so hopefully I'll be able to get this to work.  Thanks!

Re: uSirius support?

Hello! We'll after 4 months, I finally got around to releasing uSirius RC8 and uXM RC4.

The settings dialog now includes a place to enter your TVersity IP address and port.

If TVersity information is entered, the channels dialog will include an entry in the type drop down:

"MP3 stream transcoded by TVersity (Chumby)"

In the Chumby control panel you can then go to Music -> My Streams -> New and enter the mp3 channel URL from uSirius or uXM, ie:

       Name: Sirius 20 - Octane
       URL: http://192.168.1.100:19080/mp3?num=20

Now it should be a little easier to wake up to Octane or Stern!

Thanks Jason!  Two questions, though:

(1)  Does this update eliminate the need for XAMPP to stream Sirius to my Chumby?
(2)  Where do I find the address and port for TVersity to enter into uSirius?

No problem,

1)

In theory, yes. The reason I say theory, is because the last two mornings, the backup alarm has come on for me instead. sad

What's even more frustrating is whenever I go directly in the Music -> My Streams -> Play it works every single time.

I even set a few test alarms and it worked every time.

With that, I'm not quite sure if its a Chumby issue or TVersity issue.

I looked at my uSirius logs both mornings and it was just bombarded with incoming channel requests from the Chumby.

(I really need to just break down and write my own transcoder.)

2)

Your TVersity IP address should be the address of the machine it's running on. You can do a Start -> Run -> cmd  then ipconfig.

For the port, it's usually 41952, but you'll find it in TVersity's settings.

Oh, one note, you'll need the latest TVersity 1.0RC3 for this to all work.

Thanks.  Unfortunately I'm beginning to wonder if I'm ever going to get the uSirius/TVersity combo working on my Chumby.  The uSirius/Orb combo works fine.  I went back to the old Wiki directions (minus the XAMPP section) and your additional instructions (above) but, not only can't I get it to stream, uSirius isn't even detecting the request.

Re: uSirius support?

Yeh, TVersity can be a bear.

If you have your Chumby hit uSirius with a URL similar to

http://192.168.1.1:19080/mp3?num=20

and you don't see:

06:30:33 - Incoming mp3 request for Sirius 20 - Octane (129 Kbps).
06:30:33 - Incoming request completed.

Then there is 99.5% chance you have a firewall issue.

That worked!  Thanks! I'm looking at where I went wrong and I see that I was following the URL directions in the Wiki, not in your latest post.  I'll blame sleep deprivation.
