Topic: Chumby Classic - top button not working

I've recently rejoined Chumby.com, and while my Chumby Classic seems to be working like a champ — displaying all the old widgets and new ones added with the web interface — I cannot get the control panel to launch. Nothing at all happens when I press the top button. Is it common for the button hardware to fail?

I don't think I've ever seen a top button fail on a CC, but that doesn't mean it's not possible.  Unfortunately, I don't have the records from the old Customer Support to check.

Quick question - when you press the button, do you hear the click?

If not, then it might just be the stuffing is packed too tight at the top.  You can open up the bottom and adjust the contents.  Be careful removing the beanbag - if it gets stuck to the hook velcro, it can rip open and the chumbarf will spill out.

If you DO hear the click, and you don't want to do anything to the inside of your device (The Classic is a PITA to open), try doing this.
