Topic: 50 widget max

I see 50 is the new widget maximum.  Will this ever be increased back to 100? Please?

We'll see how it goes.

The issue in one of widget caching, particularly on the CC.  If the cache get blown on that device, then the server load gets really high and we end up back in Old Chumby Expenses territory.

We're watching the servers carefully and once we know how the system in behaving in the Real World (as opposed to Fake Test World of Unicorns and Rainbows) then we can make some decisions and tweaks.

Incidentally, in the old system, there was this notion of "app subscriptions" where you could have a channel get all new and updated apps, as well as from other lists.  The problem was that these automated systems did not honor the app limit, and there were channels in the database with several hundred apps.

It was pretty much an insta-crash for any device that happened to use such a channel.
