Running Zurks Firmware on my Chumby 8, the device turns itself off after a while... Can anyone please help me ?
I'd ask that on Zurk's forum.
Thanks but his forum is pretty much dead ;-(
But... there was a new post an hour ago!
I haven't used zurkware in a while. But sometimes if I'd try to run it off one of those tiny compact USB dongles (on early versions) they would (apparently) overheat and shut down, symptoms like you're describing. Didn't experience that with the full size USB sticks.
Also, this obviously wouldn't matter if you're using a recent Z version that installs on the Chumby.
Thanks guys for the answers, @nathanm I must be talking from a different Zurk forum then. @bobsz. I am really new to offline Chumby firmware, can you please be more specific? Is there an alternative to Zurks solution? Not only the permanent shutdown is it what I am struggling with but also the Internet connection is pretty unstable... Thanks again for your help
Zurk's forum is on Sourceforge. He listed it in his original post here

Make sure you're reading about the version you want, because some of the original documentation is very outdated and incorrect.
Early versions ran off a USB stick, new ones load right into the Chumby.
Nathanm recently developed another system, but just for the 3.5 inch devices.
thanks a lot :-)
