Re: Subsonic on chumby

The Sony Dash is a bit of a different animal. While it does run Chumby software, there is proprietary Sony stuff involved too. You might do better to post your question on the Sony Dash forum.

Re: Subsonic on chumby

Thanks for the tip! But I have a perfectly working application server developer demo.subsonic.org a local server can not connect

Re: Subsonic on chumby

It *sounds* like you created a DNS entry for a non-routable IP.

If so, then it's quite possible that the Sony media player does not permit that for security reasons.

Re: Subsonic on chumby

Also, some routers (particularly ones using dnsmasq) will ignore DNS responses with RFC1918 (non-routable) addresses. If this is the case, you may be able to disable this in your router settings.

Re: Subsonic on chumby

I think that a problem not in DNS because from other computers via the browser everything works both on ip and on a name (if to make static record on a router)

Re: Subsonic on chumby

Unfortunately, there really isn't much we can do for you.

Although the Sony dash runs some parts of the Chumby middleware, the media player is an exception - it's purely of Sony origin.  Chumby never had any access to the source code for that subsystem, so we really can't tell you how it works or how to diagnose issues with it.
