Topic: Developer required for demo

Hi,
We need to create a semi-functional demo of a touch-screen music player for late January 2011.
We are developing and scripting the demo now.

Is it possible (yes) to build this demo in Flash and run it on the SONY Dash unit in full-screen mode so it looks like and embedded system?

Ideally the unit would boot directly into the demo (widget?) and remain active.

If any developers are interested in this project, please send me an email.

Re: Developer required for demo

Chances are you won't be able to do that on the dash, which is a closed device and doesn't really allow what you're planning on doing, which is to take over the device.  You could fake parts of it with a simple widget, but you'd still probably have to interact with it after boot to get the widget in full-screen mode.

You'd be more likely able to do that with the Insignia Infocast, which allows a deeper kind of hacking, including taking over the boot process and running your own Flash movies as the primary mode of use.

Duane,
Any other ideas on what hardware could be used?

Android?

Re: Developer required for demo

I've never built an Android app that takes over on boot, but I'm pretty sure it's possible. It might be interesting trying to stop it from launching your app in case there is a bug - you might have to do a factory reset.

Again, I think the Infocast is your best bet.
