Topic: Haiku

I would like to suggest an widget displaying a new haiku every time, fed from a huge internet database. The haiku as a text form seems perfect to me to the basic concept of the chumby. thanks for reading...

If you can find a publicly accessible "huge internet database" of Haikus, the widget would be relatively easy.

Yeah, that's a javascript building them from a small dictionary, much like the "Shakespeare Insult Generator" widget.

I took a look at the source, and they have a nasty message:

"haiku generator scripts copyright 2000-2009 Selendy Communications. All Rights Reserved. Reproduction of this or attached scripts is not permitted"

...that would seem to make it problematic to use it in a widget. Oh well.

Yea, I saw that as well. Perhaps they would be a little more forgiving if the widget provided advertising for them smile

"Don't ask don't get" is what my grandfather always used to say...

I don't think it would violate any laws to rearchitect the concept.

I think the OP has a good idea here. smile
