Topic: Chumby for Seniors

Hi, I got a Chumby for my mom on Christmas so she could listen to her religious lesson every morning, and perhaps a bit more.

But when I got it, I was disappointed with the interface - it seems you must make positive action to make a widget sticky (push the top button, then the touch screen's  itsy-bitsy-cutsy button to make sticky, and then reverse to get out of a sticky widget.

Is there a way to make a widget automatically stick when the touch screen is pushed, and automatically unstick when the widget runs its course (like when an mp3 is finished being played) or failing that - some way to change those gratuitous itsy-bitsy-cutsy buttons into broad quarter-sized push buttons that my mom's numb fingers can push?

If not, please consider this a suggestion.

As it is now, she can only use the Chumby as a moving slide-show.

Thanks!

Re: Chumby for Seniors

You could configure the widget to last "Forever" and then just use the tilt sensor to change widgets.

Re: Chumby for Seniors

Would your mum be able to use the blunt end of a pen or pencil to push the little buttons on the Control Panel touchscreen?
