Topic: Skype

Can the chumby handle skype? Does it have the hardware? There is a MIC right? It has speakers.. A CPU.
Anyway has this been looked at?

Sony has a device called a MYLO it is sort of a portable web device..music player web browser, skype phone.
The Mylo and chumby use the same flash lite system.
Does it follow that if there is an application made for flash lite it will run on any flashlite device?

Skype is a closed, proprietary system, so an implementation requires acquiring the software from them.  We have talked to them, but so far those discussions have not led to Skype being available on the device.

However, the hardware is well within the required performance to support it.  We have successfully built and run some Open Source SIP VOIP clients in our labs.

Flash Lite does not directly support Skype, so the Sony device undoubtedly has some other application that implements it.
