Topic: Shoutcast?

Ever since I returned to work after Christmas,  Shoutcast does not seem to be working.  It does the search but none of the 'stations' it finds will play(whereas before some of them would).  I have an I3.5.
Thanks

My i8 works. May need to reboot first.

Re: Shoutcast?

I have rebooted, several times.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Shoutcast?

I opened SHOUTcast on my C1, and it's playing streams.  It's possible the ones you've searched for just aren't accepting connections.

Try this - search for "ambient" and play the first station (on my device, it's "ANTENNE BAYERN Chillout".

Re: Shoutcast?

That worked - its odd now that I go back to jazz as the search term stations are working now.  That's strange since I've been trying for several days with the same result.  What's important is that it seems to be back to working now.
Thanks!

Re: Shoutcast?

Yeah. Some of the SC stations just don't work. I have tried several in the same genre that don't work. Then one loads.

Re: Shoutcast?

There's not really anything we can do about that - SHOUTcast is just a directory of streams as reported by the broadcasters, neither we nor they can verify whether any particular connection will succeed at any given time.  I've mentioned a few times on the forums the various reasons why a stream may fail - simply not broadcasting, too many simultaneous listeners, regional blocks, etc.

Re: Shoutcast?

There is an online station www.181.fm that has a variety of ways to connect to their stations.

If you look here http://www.181.fm/index.php?p=mp3links you will find streams that are not listed on the main page but still work great and an alternate way to connect without going through a browser.
