Wow it's been a while. Anywho, I was told my Duane that if I found a compatible stream for Classic FM (a classical music station in Britain), they might be able to add it. I don't know if it is possible but I finally found one:

http://media-ice.musicradio.com/ClassicFM.m3u

Clear Skies everyone!

I think the concept of submitting stations to radio free chumby is an exercise in futility; and should not be necessary.
Instead, a widget should be created that allows users to select music by genre, and then see radio stations available.
Adding them helter-skelter to chumby will take a lot of time and never be complete or up to date.

PS- listing radio stations without listing their genre, and state is a frustrating experience. i like Jazz and classical- and don't want to have to memorize call letters or go with trial and error.

Listing the state is important if you listen to news or other time related radio (I LOVE NPR, but a California NPR station does not play morning edition when MY morning begins)!

Love it for night time. . .

During the day, my favorite thing to fill my ears with has always been the talk from 1079thelink.com -- unfortunately it's all WM/Silverlight based so I was stuck listening to it only when at my desk.

Fast forward--got my Chumby and sent an e-mail to their New Media director. Much to my delight they're already working on an mp3 based stream. It comes with the disclaimer that they're still testing it and it may be intermittent until it's "officially" released to the public. But I've listened to it nonstop without interruption, save for my Internet cutting out. Which is par.

It's morning/comedy talk format (Think Bob & Sheri) -- all day long. Entertaining, not enriching.

http://den-a.plr.liquidcompass.net/pls/WLNKFM.pls
